Every spring, Momentum Dance Toronto hits the stage for our annual production—a unique, theme-driven showcase that blends various dance styles and choreographies to help tell a unified story.
Beyond our main show, we try to stay active year-round by performing at festivals, fundraisers, and community events, giving our dancers even more opportunities to share and showcase their talents.

"Tune In" explores the cultural legacy of television through the power of live performance. For decades, the small screen has been a constant companion—from the nostalgic magic of Saturday morning cartoons to the instant world of modern streaming. Leave the living room behind and step into the diverse landscapes television creates as we translate iconic stories, historical milestones, and the ultimate escapes of the medium into a dynamic celebration of dance.

"Porta" invites you on a movement-driven journey through a series of portals and doorways. The choreographies explore both the literal and symbolic passages of life, from the clarity of our waking stories to the abstract landscapes of our dreams. The world could use a lot more Canada!
"ONE FIFTY" celebrates Canada’s 150th anniversary.  Through the exclusive use of Canadian music, our dancers have choreographed movement pieces that explore and celebrate all that it means to be a part of our great country.

Familiar sounds. Reimagined stories.
"UNDER | COVER" celebrates the power of musical reinvention. Using a soundtrack composed entirely of cover songs, our dancers explore how a familiar melody can spark entirely new interpretations and deeply personal connections. From stories of love and discovery to the raw emotions of loss and fear, UNDER | COVER reveals the art that lies just beneath the surface.

Wonder
‘Down the rabbit hole we go….Curiouser and curiouser’ ~ Alice
"Wonder" honours the 150th anniversary of Lewis Carroll’s classic, Alice in Wonderland. Our choreographers and dancers have reimagined Carroll’s iconic themes through movement—some pieces offer a literal transcription of the tale, while others will leave you questioning reality, much like the original story.

Off Canvas
An exploration of how ART can inspire ART
"Off Canvas" challenged our choreographers to find movement within the still world of visual art. By drawing inspiration from some of history’s most renowned painters, we explored the dynamic relationship between a fixed canvas and the fluidity of space and motion. This gallery of motion and exploration shows how one artist’s vision can ignite the creative spark in another—proving that art's greatest power is its ability to inspire more art.

Reflections of the past retold through music and dance
"Nostalgia" is a bittersweet dive into the people, places, and moments that shape us. Through a versatile mix of styles, Momentum Dance Toronto explores everything from childhood play and lifelong hobbies to the weight of heartbreak and loss. This production physicalizes personal stories—ranging from the lighthearted joy of summer swimming to the raw complexity of overcoming obstacles—reminding us that while everyone’s past is different, the feeling of longing is universal.

"Projections" is a journey of sight, sound, and motion. Inspired by the scores of iconic movies, we use our bodies to express the stories once told on screen.

Momentum Dance Toronto's debut performance
